Heatresitant Stainless Stee

Stainless Steel 316L | AISI 316L | 1.4404

Stainless Steel 316L, also known as AISI 316L, has a low carbon content to obtain an easier-to-weld Stainless Steel.

What is

Stainless Steel 316L | UNS S31603

316L Stainless Steel is a low-carbon, austenitic, chromium-nickel-molybdenum Stainless Steel with general corrosion properties, similar to those of 316, but with superior resistance to intergranular corrosion after welding or stress relieving annealing. It is recommended for components exposed to certain corrosive environments and manufactured by welding and subsequently cannot be annealed. Components made of 316L Stainless Steel can be used at operating temperatures up to 425˚C. Under certain conditions, 316L may be more susceptible to intergranular corrosion than type 304L, such as in strongly oxidising corrosive environments.

Applications of Stainless Steel 316L

Stainless Steel 316, also known as Inox 316 or AISI 316, is a variant of Stainless Steel that is widely used due to its unique properties and versatility. Here are some applications of Stainless Steel 316:

Maritime environments: Stainless Steel 316 is highly resistant to corrosion, making it ideal for shipbuilding, offshore installations, and boats.

Chemical industry: Due to its resistance to acids and chlorides, Stainless Steel 316 is often used in chemical processing equipment and tanks.

Heat exchangers: The heat resistance of Stainless Steel 316 makes it suitable for high-temperature applications, such as heat exchangers.

Food industry: Stainless Steel 316 meets strict hygiene standards and is safely used in the food and pharmaceutical industries.

Architecture and coastal buildings: It is also used in architecture and buildings in coastal areas due to its corrosion resistance.

In short, Stainless Steel 316 is a versatile material used in various sectors for its durability and corrosion resistance.
