In a softly annealed state, Stainless Steel 304 is non-magnetic, in a cold deformed state Stainless Steel 304 is weakly magnetic. Stainless Steel 304 is less sensitive to the precipitation of chromium carbides during welding. This 304 Stainless Steel quality is suitable for use in the chemical and food/beverage industry, as well as for cryogenic equipment and drainage channels.
Stainless Steel 304 is one of the most commonly used Stainless Steel forms. This alloy consists of 18% chromium and 8% nickel.
Attention: aggressive environments, such as seawater and coastal areas, are unsuitable for this material. 304 Stainless Steel is very sensitive to acids and chlorides, which can lead to corrosion. Are you looking for a type that is suitable for this? Then choose Stainless Steel 316. This is a more expensive, but more corrosion-resistant type.
