ASTM B/SB 444 Inconel 625 / UNS N06625

Inconel 625 is a Ni-Cr-Mo alloy used for its high strength, high toughness, and its oxidation and corrosion resistance. Alloy 625 has good resistance to oxidation and scaling at high temperatures up to 1800 °F (982 °C). It is superior to many other high-temperature alloys under cyclic heating and cooling conditions. The high molybdenum content makes the alloy highly resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion. Inconel 625 can be easily welded and processed.

Benefits of Inconel 625

The strength of alloy 625 is derived from the reinforcing effect of molybdenum and niobium on the nickel-chromium matrix. Although the alloy was developed for strength at high temperatures, the highly alloyed composition also provides a high degree of corrosion resistance.
